Mallory Price is a native South Side Chicagoan and a Board Member on the Hyde Park Historical Society. Starting in her youth, Mallory now has over 20 years experience conducting genealogical research and research on the history of Chicago. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. She is a full time Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owns a psychotherapy private practice in Hyde Park.

About the Creators

Student Interns

Selali Potakey (Joined in 2022) is a 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago with a major in Computer Science and minor in History. Born in Accra, Ghana, she was raised for most of her life in Brooklyn Park, Maryland, before moving to Chicago for university. She is interested in learning more about the Computer Science applications in library science and about why people interact with their environments in the ways that they do. In her free time, she enjoys playing songs on her guitar and ukulele as well as reading Russian literature and watching too many movies.

David Davison (Joined in 2022) is a student in the MA History program at DePaul University. A long time Chicago resident by way of Indiana, David’s main area of study at DePaul is 19th century American history with a particular interest in Civil War memory. In addition to a passion for history, David is a musician who enjoys long-distance running and hanging out with his dog Bee.

Hugh Shepard (Joined in 2023) is a 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in history and minoring in data science.  Hugh is particularly interested in the histories of urban migration and industrialization. Since arriving at the University of Chicago, he has become fascinated by the history of the South Side of Chicago and was a student researcher and writer for the Century on 55th Street research project. In his free time, Hugh enjoys playing trombone and exploring new parts of the city.
