In this era of Amazon, ebooks and bookstore chains where t-shirts and coffee mugs compete with books, Hyde Park continues a legacy of independent bookstores that sell just books. Prominent Hyde Park booksellers will discuss the challenges in today’s bookselling environment, their innovative approaches to those challenges, how the Hyde Park community has shaped their current condition, and what lies ahead.

In its university setting, Hyde Park has a rich history of independent bookstores, past and present – stores that have national profiles. Learn from these industry leaders some of that history as well as how these stores continue to serve the Hyde Park community and beyond by providing a real, as opposed to virtual, browsing experience with a wide range of book titles and ongoing opportunities to encounter today’s authors first hand.
