Hi Everyone,

Good to see you all on March 20th.  The discussion was animated and interesting.

On a lighter note, our discussion for April will be mystery writer Sara Paretsky's V. I. Warshawski series.  A link to her bibliography is at either of the sites below.

As always, the Seminary Coop and 57th Street Books are good sources - https://www.semcoop.com/search/apachesolr_search/paretsky

For the bargain hunter, Powell's also has some of Sara's books - https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=Paretsky&bi=0&bx=off&ds=30&recentlyadded=all&sortby=17&sts=t&vci=62903

For the May meeting we discussed books about and by Hyde Park politicians, and I have very good news.  Rebecca Janowitz, author of Culture of Opportunity has agreed to join us and help guide the discussions.  Since this is a large topic, we have tentatively planned to do it over two meetings - May and June.  With the May meeting focusing on more recent politicians and the June meeting covering earlier politicians.  We are working on the bibliographies, which will be distributed soon, but strongly recommend that everyone read Culture of Opportunity as it provides an excellent context for Hyde Park politics, and is a great read.  Apparently the book is now out of print, but copies are available from:
